THE PALACE OF ILLUSIONS -BY CHITRA BANERJEE DIVAKARUNI (Book Review)

This book is the retelling of the epic tale of Mahabharata from Draupadi's aka Panchali's perspective.

🔵From the unusual birth of Draupadi from the flames to the extremely emotional and content death scene of Draupadi , this book keeps you engaged till the very end.

🔵If you think you know about the story then perhaps you're mistaken. You only know this epic tale from ONE perspective ,the androcentric one . This book is a breath of fresh air as every single character  has been written so beautifully that it almost feels like we're talking about humans and not legends or gods.

🔵Krishna , Karna and of course Draupadi have been my favorite characters because their development has been enormous. We see a very young, scared and lonely Draupadi  undergoing metamorphosis into an independent , brave and a wife of five brothers, The Pandu brothers.

🔵Unexpectedly , Karna was one such character who I wanted more and more of as I progressed in the novel.

Extremely beautiful work by

She has woven this entire story into a very new yet with a nostalgic feeling. 💞💞💞
The vocabulary used is extensive and the entire story is extremely gripping. The best way to read this book would be to absorb everything Lord Krishna says.
Amazing read, a definite page turner.
Loved it!! 💗💗💗
Totally recommend it for everyone!
Give it a read and you won't ever look at The Mahabharata the same as before.❤️❤️
