THE SHIVA TRILOGY , BY : AMISH TRIPATHI (Book Review)

THE IMMORTALS OF MELUHA

Meluha is a near perfect town governed on the basis of lord Ram's principles. They soon find their arch enemies ( Chandravanshis) have allied with an ostracised community called the Nagas , their only solution is to pray for a legend to save them.

That legend turns out to be Shiva , a tribal man from kailash who has no idea what destiny holds for him.

Soon the people of Meluha realise that this is the legend , the Neelkanth they have been waiting for. The ending will leave you asking for more and reading the second book is the only choice.

THE SECRET OF THE NAGAS

This part quite literally is about what the title says. It's about a revelation that takes place in between the book, a revelation about the nagas.

It is in this book that we finally get to see the flaws in Meluha and it's rulers.

Two very important characters get introduced in the book, Kali and Ganesh.

The ending is really unexpected.

THE OATH OF THE VAYUPUTRAS

This book starts with the introduction of so many new characters that it becomes impossible to keep a track of all of them.

The story has been woven in a very detailed way, so that the reader experiences exactly what it would've been like in reality too.

The story moves forward and this is the part where " Good and Evil are the two sides of the same coin" becomes the most relevant throughout the novel.

Somras ( elixir of life) which has been glorified in the first two novels is finally brought to a more clear view.

It's not as fast paced as the first two books but it still engages you till the very end. The ending of this book left me heartbroken, and I wept like a five year old, probably the only reason why I would recommend you to read just the first two books if you're not in for an emotional rollercoaster. Still, I needed to complete the trilogy and so I did.

Beautifully written books by author Amish . He has a very engaging writing style and it always amazes me how he has  woven the entire trilogy.

This one's a definite page turner .
